"This series of work is the culmination of an immersive two-weeks spent in the coastal town of Port Fairy, Victoria in 2022.
I approached this experience as somewhat of a self-directed art residency and spent the days exploring, documenting, and generating ideas for new works. In a setting notably different from where I live, this opportunity allowed me to broaden the subject matter within my works and develop a library of new mark making possibilities. While I continue to be largely drawn to the patterns and textures found in these natural environments, I also wanted to investigate the quiet, contemplative, and ephemeral qualities of these coastal surroundings."
