Exciting News For Boom Artist Jen Tarry-Smith!
Jen Tarry-Smith has been incredibly fortunate to have been selected to participate in the Printer Training Program at Tamarind Institute! This opportunity has been a dream of hers for a long time and she will be trained in lithography in Albuquerque at the University of New Mexico. Jen has also received an Ian Potter Cultural Trust Fund to assist with her trip, and the Marjorie L. Devon Scholarship from Tamarind Institute to cover her tuition. She will be moving to Albuquerque this August for 9 months of creative study.
The course will further develop Jen Tarry Smith’s technical abilities in Lithography and she will gain skills to set up her own workshop in the future and work as a collaborative printer with other artists.
This is super exciting news and an incredible opportunity for Jen. Having such a dedicated slab of time in a focused and supportive environment will open up a world of possibilities for her. We cannot wait to see how her work develops over this period. Watch this space as Jen will also create her own prints which she will bring back at the end of her trip.
