Amber Stokie, Dancing Between Light and Dark
Opening
Saturday 27 May
01:00 PM - 03:00 PM
Exhibition Dates
25 May -
18 June
In this most recent body of work Amber Stokie explores the correlation between music, gesture, and colour with the intention of capturing the essence of contemporary life.
Influenced by the ideas of philosopher and pragmatist John Dewey, Amber observes life as continuous cycle of ups and downs and attempts to capture, through painting, the constant undulations that materialise throughout an individual's life journey - from moments of harmony and discord, joy, and sorrow, to connection and disconnection.
Amber's interest in exploring both individual and collective aspects of life stems from her lived experience as a triplet, which highlights the extension of duality beyond the individual.
