Andrea Shaw, 'Moments'
ARTIST STATEMENT
“These works come from tiny moments inked in my memory from evening walks. This winter, twenty minutes before dark seemed to be the only window I found to get out and walk our dog.
Cold and quiet with shades of blue, details disappearing with the days light. Feeling engulfed by silhouettes and shadows within the landscape of moody hues, little moments appeared.
In these quiet moments, absorbed by shadows, the fading blue winter light renders the world both mysterious and calm. The disappearing light, coupled with the stillness of the season, creates a delicate interaction between form and fading.
These works aim to capture this atmosphere- the stillness, the solitude, and the beauty hidden in these in-between moments of transition from day to night within the landscape."
