Night Marigold: a collection of paintings exploring the emotive effects of colour, light, and form.

With these artworks, I attempt to challenge my own assumptions of how colour functions within a composition and take chances by working with a vivid palette. Shifting shapes of intense glowing tones, oceanic blues and greens, and pastel hues sit soundly in unison.

Drawing inspiration from nature, I give homage to the humble marigold, which were often linked to represent the powerful strength of the sun. Through these paintings, I wanted to emulate the sensation we experience in the natural world in our everyday lives: a glistening moon, the gentle hypnotic motion of ocean waters, warmth from a winter's sun."
