BIO
Rachel Hine is a Geelong based artist known for weaving intricate tapestries. Expressive portraits layered with textile references allow her to connect historical concepts with contemporary imagery.
Rachel Hine holds a BA Masters of Fine Arts from Monash University. She has been exhibiting regularly in group and solo exhibitions since the late 1990s. She spent several years immersed in training at the Australian Tapestry Workshop from 2000-2006. She has been shortlisted for the Kate Derum Award for Small Tapestries exhibition since 2013. Rachel is enthusiastic about presenting contemporary tapestry.
