Saxon Quinn, Home & Humble
Home & Humble pays homage to the home Saxon was raised in. Whilst not every detail in each work ties to his past / present, there are subtle motifs. Each title references either a specific moment in time or a period in his life.
Rough lines mimicking the countryside, the sawtooth shape and checker markings a common detail referenced throughout the home, light graphite scribbles of garden, home, sculptures and more."
Saxon draws inspiration from his own state-of-mind and surroundings, whether that be personal hurdles or distractions, family, friends, the countryside or cityscapes.
“Amongst the worn, rough, stained and sporadic marks, there's a sense of calm and balance. I want to continue to harvest this through my work.
Home & Humble pays homage to the home/town I grew up in and most importantly my mother. Whilst the overall artworks are not directly tied to either / or, there are subtle motifs throughout individual works."
