Claire Gorst is a ceramic artist living in Torquay, Victoria.  She began her journey with clay over ten years ago, attending classes at a local ceramics studio before creating her own working space at home.

Claire uses hand building techniques to create unique pieces with an organic form and interesting surface.  Through the use of a variety of clay bodies, glazes and other ceramic materials, she aims to create pieces that engage the viewer every day.  The viewer is invited to use their eyes and hands to enjoy the colour, pattern and texture of the ceramic object, whether it is a decorative vase on a table, or a simple coffee cup.  In this, Claire hopes to bring a little extra joy to everyday living.
