Giulia Violanti
Giulia Violanti is an Italian artist whose creative journey is a blend of artistry and exploration. Graduating from an art high school and later completing her studies in Visual Communication at the University, she has always been drawn to experimenting with artistic printing techniques and the intricate craft of ceramics.
She has traveled the world, participating in art residencies in countries like Mexico, India, Indonesia, and Peru, where she has showcased her projects. Throughout her travels, she has been fascinated by natural colors, which are a central theme in her work. One of her most immersive experiences was in Mexico, where she spent two months living in an indigenous community that worked with clay. Here, she absorbed primitive pottery-working techniques and developed a deep respect for the earth.
In her art, she combines the knowledge she gains from these experiences. Her unique pieces often feature the “sgraffito” technique, mystical symbols, local earth materials, and original colours. Each artwork is a testament to her cross-cultural journey and artistic evolution. Driven by an insatiable curiosity for new cultures and a deep desire for meaningful encounters, Giulia Violanti continues to seek out new artistic inspirations and connections, allowing herself to be transformed by each experience.
