Sharon Alpren
Sharon is a ceramicist working from her garden studio in the Macedon Ranges.
Using richly coloured and textured stoneware clays, and a combination of handbuilding and wheel thrown techniques, she creates functional and sculptural pieces for the home.
Sharon’s work is process driven. Fascinated by the nature of ceramic materials, she allows the clay, glaze minerals and fire to direct her work.
She is drawn to strong, simple expressive forms and embellishments that allow the essence of the materials to shine through.
