We have a range of amazing art classes and workshops happening at BOOM Workroom. Classes are taught by local artists and makers represented or stocked by BOOM.. Such as: Fiona McDonald from ICHIMU – Taking a porcelain workshop / Handforming and illustrating objects and jewellery. Chelsea Gustafsson – Running a one day workshop teaching participants how to paint an object realistically using acrylic paints on wood panel. This is a repeat as the first session was so popular! Michelle Kershaw will be taking a one day workshop teaching the intaglio printmaking technique of Paper Drypoint Etching and also a 6 week course covering 3 different relief printmaking methods. Natalie Anderson’s Oil Painting Fundamentals is now in its second term and has been the most popular class to date! Students love Nat’s approach to teaching and have developed a great group of friends in the process. This class is booked out but stay tuned for more places next term! Janne Kearney’s Colour Mixing Masterclass took place recently and was a great opportunity for students to learn from such a talented artist and come away with the skills to mix any colour they choose! We are currently taking expressions of interest for a repeat class and looking forward to programming more classes with Janne in the near future. Ro Yule has now run several successful Basket Weaving workshops with us at BOOM Workroom. We have had great feedback from participants about these fun and inspiring sessions. We have added two more classes to the program.
