“A phenomenon of surfaces that appear to change hue as the angle of view or the angle of illumination changes. Iridescent is a new body of work exploring new perspectives. Seductive florals intertwine and morph, blooming into new and foreign forms. Magical bird and snake motifs dance together in abundance. Rich imagery is carefully collected, collaged and combined, creating mosaic spheres of volume and life. This new work is a joyful celebration movement, femininity and growth.” Meredith Earls is a Melbourne based artist and designer. “My work explores ideas of spaces, real, imagined, physical and intangible. I’m interested in making the things that can’t be seen visible. I am drawn to collage as a way of taking things apart, re-arranging them and making something new. I love the qualities of old printed materials and the histories that they bring to the work.” Iridescent runs June 22 – July 15. To see a full exhibition listing click here.
