Join me for a very special workshop at Boom Gallery in Geelong this September!
This will be a very special workshop in celebration of my first group tapestry exhibition – Inter:Section and will be part of the CRAFT CUBED Festival 2019. We will be celebrating the art of tapestry and hand-made with artists Rachel Hine, Hilary Green & myself Rachel Wood and will run from 15th August – 8th September, 2019.
Join me, (and an awesome group of like-minded individuals) for 4 hours of weaving bliss at the beautiful Boom Gallery, Newtown, Geelong and learn the art of weaving a tapestry on a frame loom.
Big Boom is the latest venture and extension of Boom Gallery housing a vast gallery space for monthly exhibitions, dynamic stockroom, studios, an artist in residence space and workshop area. Boom is the perfect location to surround yourself amongst culture and creativity , while you journey through the process of weaving on a tapestry frame loom. We’ll go through everything from setting up your loom, to various weaving techniques and knot styles to get you ready for your weaving journey.
You will have all-access to my stash of beautiful yarn in every colour of the rainbow, use of my hand-crafted looms and tool kits (thoughtfully co-designed by myself and the maker and lovingly hand-crafted, from local and sustainably sourced timber, and made in a small workshop just 45 mins from my home.) You’ll also receive a beautifully illustrated weaving guide by talented Melbourne Illustrator, Ashley Ronning.

Looms will be provided for use in the workshop only. If participants wish to purchase a loom, they will be available on the day for a discounted price of $80.00.

WHAT TO BRING:
A beautiful selection of yarns will be provided, but if a specific colour palette is preferred, please feel free to BYO.
This workshop is perfect for beginners or for anyone looking to refresh their skills.
The class will be limited to 16 people.
Light snacks and refreshments will be provided.
