ARTIST STATEMENT
These paintings form part of an ongoing series that acts as both a physical place and a deeply personal archive. My garden on Sunset Rd has been my anchor—an ever-shifting environment that shapes how I see and how I create. Historically, botanical artists recorded flora to preserve knowledge and memory; in my work, I reinterpret that tradition through a contemporary lens.
Rather than aiming for scientific accuracy, I draw on gesture, atmosphere and emotional resonance to capture the living, changing essence of the place that has held me.
