    ARTIST STATEMENT
"As an artist, my practice is rooted in an ongoing exploration of colour, pattern and scale, where grouped and simplified shapes, repetition, and varying colour interactions create a rhythmic, evolving dialogue. The premise of 'ART/house'—feels like a natural extension of this process, reflecting the way I engage with composition: sometimes harmonious, sometimes unexpected, but always unfolding. I’m drawn to the idea of design transcending function, becoming something that is felt rather than just used, and seeing my work as part of a sculptural, immersive environment.

For this show, my paintings should feel right at home- they do sit often on the fence between design and art. So art and design dissolve, allowing for new ways of seeing, arranging, and understanding the forms that shape our everyday."

    BIO

Immersed in design across disciplines including art, interiors, landscape, and architecture, Emma Lipscombe’s artwork bridges the structured and the painterly, blending geometric precision with expressive colour. Her practice is rooted in the transformative process of simplifying, sampling, and reworking forms, exploring how shape and hue interact in dynamic, evolving compositions. Drawing on her experience as a Landscape Architect on projects spanning London, Asia, and Beirut, she brings a designer’s sensitivity to order and scale, balanced by an artist’s deep understanding of colour and luminosity. Her paintings reflect a constant dialogue between structure and spontaneity, where design principles and artistic intuition converge.
