It’s a long ride on your bike from Highton to Wurdi Youang when you’re 12 years old, healthy youthful energy, in pursuit of adventure, the memories of the tree covered outcrop looming as you get closer has never faded from my mind, a giant blob protruding from the table top flatness of one of the largest volcanic plains on the planet. Wurdi Youang is a dominant feature for many people from this region, many have spent thousands of years with it integral to their life, this is a heavy ancient energy place….and it’s an even longer ride home once being overwhelmed and consumed as a twelve year old. Forty-five years later it still does it to me.
