ARTIST STATEMENT
"This collection features plein air studies created during my artist residency in the Canary Islands. Immersed in an unfamiliar landscape, each warm day blended into the next as I explored the unique terrain through painting, watching the sun glide over a craggy, undulating land dotted with palm trees and cacti."

Jessie Rose Ford is a multidisciplinary artist based in Melbourne (Naarm). Working in oil, her landscape practice embraces the sensorial immediacy of painting outdoors. Each work honours a particular place or fleeting moment of awe in nature, captured through colour, play and mark-making.
