"Natura Morta, still life.
2021, stilled life. Life slowed down and in little fragmented chunks it unfolded.
The start of 2021 held some hope of continuity that 2020 lacked, getting to the studio, creating a coherent body of work. Having important quiet time to let ideas and experiments flow from one thing to another.
Instead 2021, grabbing snippets of time, making small and disjointed things, in between domestic and academic encouragement.
This work represents my collections of portraits and tiny objects, the topsy turvy compositions reflect the way lockdowns have us not knowing if we’re coming or going."
