ARTIST STATEMENT
"My paintings explore memory and present experiences, weaving together the landscapes of my surroundings with recollections of past places I have lived. This interplay unfolds through interlocking and shifting forms, where shape, line and colour operate as a visual dialogue.
Alongside painting, I work with pastel on paper, refining drawings through an emphasis on sharp edges, intense colour, and clarity of line and shape. These works inform my approach to painting, guiding compositional decisions as forms move from paper to canvas. Through the process of building multiple layers with oil paint, I deliberately create an immersive and luminescent space, where light appears to move within the painting and that I aspire to absorb the viewer into."
