Mad in Love

By Liam Haley

A curious interpretation of natural and mental landscapes inspires Haley’s generation of non-representational imagery. These artworks allude to something, but pinpoint nothing in particular. The pursuit to paint something that is not ‘physically there’ creates limitations, which can then create whole new practicalities, and therefore, whole new possibilities. This is where a new kind of creativity is born; a place where each mark made is working in harmony with the last. Colours and textures are built over copious amounts of layers. Pushing and pulling brush marks on the surface romantically displays a therapeutic rhythm between human perception and colour expression.
